Blueberries

Blueberries are a shrubby type plant that are best grown in a large pot, Wine barrel or sufficient sized container.

Once adequately potted, blueberries will thrive in a full sun to semi shaded area, depending on your climate. Blueberries require an abundance of water, needing watering most days to give you a full tasting delicious fruit. If the hydration is inadequate the fruit can be bitter, bland and pale looking.

We like to organically feed our blueberries with the grounds from our coffee machine as well as a seaweed based fertiliser which helps the fruit and roots to develop.

You can get small established plants from your local nursery and some independent hardware stores, keeping in mind that most plants need to be re-potted into a more sufficiently sized pot or container.

These small tips will put you on the road to a berry successful hoard.
